Central Illinois Technology Triangle

Boosting Innovation and Growth in the Heartland

Central Illinois Tech Partners believes the continued growth of technology in the region is a key component of its ability to better compete with other parts of the country as the 4th Industrial Revolution takes hold. A strong regional branding umbrella and business ecosystem are needed to supplement the existing economic development efforts of the individual communities and will increase Central Illinois’s visibility to domestic as well as foreign investors.

Central Illinois now has the Illinois Agtech Corridor between Champaign and Decatur that includes the Illinois Fermentation and Agriculture Biomanufacturing Hub (iFAB). Precision fermentation can turn local feedstocks, mainly corn and soybeans, into a variety of goods. At present there are no plans to extend the Illinois Agtech Corridor.

Developing a regional initiative tentatively named Central Illinois Technology Triangle is a pro bono side venture of Central Illinois Tech Partners. The talent and skills offered by Central Illinois Tech Partners are a valuable supplement to the internal capabilities of many companies.

Through initiatives like these, Central Illinois is positioning itself as a hub for innovation, technology, and economic growth.
